FAQ.
Some of the ants we supply can give a painful bite or sting. We have stated this on our shop page and will advise you if this is applicable when you place your order - but please note that you are buying the ants at your own risk and we cannot be held responsible for any injury caused by any of the ants supplied.
For certain species there is an 'over the age of 18' purchase requirement - or alternatively a 'parental consent form' to be signed. You will be advised of this when placing your order.
Your obligation
It is important to understand that - if the tropical ant species we supply to you are not native to the local fauna of your country you should never release any of the colonies into the wild, as this may have a detrimental effect on local species and in most countries is contravening wildlife laws.
We sell our colonies to you on the understanding that they will not under any circumstances be released into any non-native habitats.
If you have a colony that you no longer require you could offer it for exchange or sale on one of the many ant hobbyist's internet forum sites. Alternatively you could contact us for return of the colonies to be released to wild (native to the ecosystem) and the service is FOC(Free of Charge).

Ordering information.
Colony size
The number of workers stated is an estimate. While with some genera such as Diacamma it is relatively easy to count the number of workers, with others such as Pheidologeton it is extremely difficult. The actual number of workers may vary by plus or minus ten percent of the number stated - but in most cases you will receive more.
Names
We conduct extensive research to ensure that the species offered are identified correctly and the scientific names given are to the best of our knowledge correct.
However, due to the complexities in identifying some species and their many variants - we accept no liability for species found to be incorrectly identified.
